Britain's Kell Brook will protect his IBF world welterweight name against North american Errol Spence Jr in Sheffield on, may 27.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has declared the fight will need place at Sheffield United's Bramall Street ground.

The 30-year-old has opted to come back to welterweight having experienced the first lack of his job in Sept after upgrading to handle middleweight champ Gennady Golovkin.

Spence, 27, is unbeaten in 21 professional contests, with 18 knockout wins.

Brook said: "It's always been a imagine mine to deal with outside at Bramall Street, and I'm very happy to do this in the largest attack in the welterweight department.

"I observed many people discuss about how precisely I'd avoid Errol Spence - they don't really know me, they don't really really know what I'm about.

"All I've ever before wished to do is to provide the followers the fights they need, and they own it right here on, may 27.

"I'll show the world that I'm the best welterweight on earth, and I'll still do it before my people's eye."
