Madrid now spends better: less money, more Champions

The white team has spent the last four seasons 414 million euros, getting three Champions. The previous four, 438 million.

Real Madrid are immersed in a victorious cycle, at least in Europe, as three of the last four Champions League have signed the white team in the trophy. The team has been led throughout this period by Cristiano Ronaldo, whose future is unknown, and seconded by key pillars such as Sergio Ramos or Luka Modric. In the economic section, Madrid has reduced the number of millions invested while, paradoxically, the number of titles grew.
In the four campaigns prior to the Tenth, Madrid spent a hefty amount of money that did not even translate into titles. We started with the 2009/2010 season in which Madrid changed more than half the team. 257.40 million were invested in signings led by Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Benzema. Also arrived Xabi Alonso, Granero, Arbeloa and Negredo, who left that same summer. Adan went up to the first white team. That season, with Pellegrini in the bench, finished in white and with the dismissal of the trainer. In the 2010/2011 season, already with José Mourinho in the bench, they produced until six high plus the transfer in the middle of season (Adebayor). Di Maria, Ozil, Khedira, Pedro Leon, Ricardo Carvalho and Canales arrived for a price of 93 million, including assignment. The whites conquered the Copa de Rey after beating Barcelona in Mestalla (1-0) after many years of drought in that competition. In 2011/2012, whites invested 55 million in Coentrao, Sahin, Varane, Callejón. Altintop also arrived, but at zero cost. That season would end with the achievement of the league of records by the white team, with a number of points and goals hitherto never seen.
In the 2012/2013 campaign, Madrid only invested 33.5 million in two signings, Modric and Diego Lopez. The latter arrived in the winter market. In addition, Essien came into the white team on loan and Jesús Fernandez rose to the first team. The season ended without titles and with the departure of Mourinho of white blanquillo. In all, in those four years, the whites invested 438.9 million while they entered 279.3 million. A great investment that did not translate into success and left as the main challenge the longed for Tenth, which ended shortly after.
In a victorious cycle began in Lisbon in 2014. On the night of May 24 and after 12 years of waiting, Madrid achieved the tenth Champions of its history after beating Atletico Madrid (4-1). That season, the 2013/2014, was the first of Carlo Ancelotti in the bench of Madrid. They invested 175,5 million in signings: they arrived Bale, Casemiro, Illarramendi, Isco and Carvajal. In addition, Castile came up with tab of the first team players such as Morata, Nacho and Jesé. That same year, the whites also obtained the Glass of the King after surpassing to Barcelona in Mestalla (2-1).In the season 2014/2015, the Madrid spent 131 million of which much went for the hiring of James. Also arrived in Madrid Kroos, Lucas Silva, Keylor Navas and Chicharito Hernández, the latter as a loan. The season ended without titles and with the noncontinuity of Ancelotti. The 2015/2016 campaign started with Rafa Benítez on the bench. That year, the whites invested 78 million in the following players: Danilo, Kovacic, Casilla, Vallejo, Asensio and Lucas Vázquez.
In the middle of the season, Benitez was dismissed and bad news was accumulating in the white house ... until Zidane arrived in charge, coming from the Castile. The campaign ended successfully. Real Madrid won the Champions League in Milan after beating Atletico Madrid in the penalty shootout while in the League was sub-camp, fighting with Barcelona until the last day. In the recently completed season, 2016/2017, Madrid reaped the best results of its last years: double (league and Champions) as main titles having invested only 30 million in the arrival of Morata. In addition, Mariano rose from the Castile while Borja Mayoral and Marcos Llorente left yielded. In summary, in the last four campaigns Real Madrid has invested a total of 414 million recovering 279 in sales. In that period, the whites accumulate three Champions League like main titles.
In the last seasons, an improvement in the signings translated into sport successes and the intention in the white club is to continue reinforcing the equipment in spite of retaining the European throne. Vinicius is already white player for a price of 45 million, but will remain ceded in Brazil. The other great candidate to reach the Bernabéu is Kylian Mbappé, whose possible transfer to Madrid will undoubtedly be one of the focus of attention of the summer market. The Madrid, adds and continues to focus on a season in which he will choose up to six titles. (Champions League, League, Copa del Rey, Supercopa de Europa, Supercapa de España and World Club)
